The Plan

Week 1 (starting 27th January 2014)

·
Meet at the Building Center and find out about the Brief...

Then, find a quiet meeting space, an inspirational one: The British Museum

Discuss about our experiences: which cities have we visited, what is the ideal city for us and what for the society? What are the problems modern cities face? How do we improve the quality of life there?

Shortlist some cities and discuss problems they face, specifically

Choose one of the cities and argue why it has been chosen
·
Research on the city
·
Brainstorm on potential solutions to these problems. Can the different problems (e.g. criminality, waste management, migration, air pollution) be solved/decrease with one intervention? What could that be?
·
Research and come up with (at least) three different interventions to discuss during next meeting
·
Set up a blog, a dropbox dedicated folder, an e-mail address, record the meeting minutes

Week 2 (starting 03rd February 2014)
·
Discuss and collate different ideas and interventions and come up with the final idea by the end of Workshop 1.
·
Setting the slide titles for the presentation
·
Work throughout the week on refining this idea. What fits and what doesn’t? How do we improve that?
·
Prepare some text/slides/sketches/models to include in the final presentation

Week 3 (starting 10th February 2014)
·
Discuss and argue on the work done during week 2. Conclude on the final idea.
·
 Finalise presentation during the week.

Week 4 (starting 17th February 2014)
·
Final Presentation
